Summary:

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator  is responsible for the organization's (VT & CA) safety and environment to protect employees' safety, minimize environmental impacts, and reduce risk and liability for the company. This position also ensures compliance with federal and applicable state safety, environmental, and safety regulations. 

The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for providing and promoting environmental and safety leadership in education, engineering, behavior, culture, and performance through employee engagement and accountability. Acts as a change agent committed to accelerating process improvements within the safety and environmental program to support the employees and business in achieving its objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Proactively supports a culture of safety and quality as top organizational priorities.
  • Actively participates in ongoing training initiatives and collaborates with team members and leadership to share information in a structured process
  • Develops, implements and coordinates safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates safety and environmental risks through risk assessments and hazard analyses.
  •  Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, relevant safety and environmental regulations and best practices to  ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws
  • Leads and collaborates with various teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure safety and environmental best practices.
  • Accountable for routine safety inspections, audits, and environmental assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state (VT&CA), and local regulations and advises the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of emerging environmental health, safety, and welfare legislation.
  • Maintains STC’s safety and environmental related statistics and metrics, providing analysis of the data for process improvements.
  • Manages and prioritizes L2L’s safety and environmental tickets 
  • Collaborates and point of contact with IDEX Corp Safety & Environmental; which includes meetings, conferences, reporting, compliance, and metrics.
  • Maintains STC’s emergency management program, including fulfilling the role of the first point of contact during an emergency event. 
  • Executes simple EH&S tasks using basic hand tools
  • Ability to drive & train on industrial powered trucks and aerial lifts
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • On-call and after-hours work will be required throughout the year

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related field preferred. 
  • 2-5 years of experience leading and improving safety performance and regulatory compliance preferred
  • 8 or more years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with an EH&S focus in a multi-site enterprise preferred
  • Must have a working or school knowledge of OSHA and other federal and state safety regulations.
  • Must have prior experience (or education) in coordinating EH&S programs.
  • Prior work experience (or education) leading incident investigations while determining root causes and identifying opportunities to improve and prevent measures.
  • This position requires speaking to, influencing, and motivating both large and small groups at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong, clear, and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Total Rewards:

The compensation range for this position is $76,200 - $114,400, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonus plan.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Work environments and physical demands vary by role and may include:

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) or safety gear, provided by STC.
  • A combination of seated and standing work; walking for moderate to extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and visual focus for detailed tasks, including tool use, computer work, or microscope inspection.
  • Exposure to repetitive motions; adaptive devices or reasonable accommodation may be provided as needed.
  • Deadlines, shifting priorities, and peak workloads that may create a fast-paced environment.

Manufacturing & Production Areas:

  • Work performed on the shop floor, in climate-controlled spaces, or clean rooms. Some areas may be noisy, dusty, or warm.
  • Mandatory use of job-specific PPE and machine guards.
  • Occasional bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.; some roles require pushing loaded carts.

Maintenance & C1D2 Workspaces:

  • Includes all manufacturing/production requirements, plus additional PPE such as ESD shoes, coveralls, gloves, and full-face respirators.

Total Rewards
