The Mental Health Educator is responsible for development and oversight of a premier mental health and educational training program for all non-hospital services at St. Luke’s Penn Foundation Mental Health Services (SLPF MH). This employee will ensure that training programs are available to all staff at SLPF MH, and provide continuing education credits for social workers, marriage and family therapists, and professional counselors. The educator will develop a training schedule that enhances timely knowledge and skill-building for mental health staff.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide oversight of annual education training and professional development for St. Luke’s Penn Foundation Mental Health non-hospital located service lines.
Chair the Staff Development Committee, comprised of representatives from various programs/disciplines, as part of the strategic goal to support staff development.
Develop an annual training plan to ensure educational priorities of service line are met, in consultation with Network Director of Clinical Therapy Services, Quality Leadership for SLPF MH, and the Staff Development Committee.
Provide oversight and coordination of all residents, students and interns completing training in SLPF ambulatory programs. Manage relationships with high education partners and coordinate with SLUHN legal department around all affiliation agreements.
Ensure dissemination of CEU certificates to program attendees within state regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with other network departments offering training or conferences for which CEU’s or CME will be provided.
Conduct an annual survey of training needs and interests of mental health employees.
Maintain state licensure board requirements as a CE provider, including licensing renewal, and ensuring education programs meet standards and regulations established by the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors.
Maintain Pennsylvania Certification Board approval to provide CEUs.
Establish and maintain Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (PRA) approval to provide CEU’s.
Maintain relationship with My E-Learning and My CME teams to coordinate the downloading and CEU process for trainings online through St Luke’s My E-Learning platform.
Manage planning, facilitation, and documentation needs of all training, whether in-person or virtual, including marketing, registrations, evaluations, and certificates.
Provide a minimum of 18 hours of continuing education credits per year for licensed clinicians either through My E-Learning site or through live or video-live presentations.
Provide education or clinical supervision as needed throughout ambulatory service line.
Data management, including program statistics and reporting as requested.
Manage and update educational calendar and provide access to such to all SLPF MH staff via a shared electronic platform.
Review completed trainings annually and work with trainer(s) to updaterent evidenced based practice and reference rules and guidelines.
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Demonstrates/models the Network’s PCRAFT values during interactions with all customers.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to six hours per day, one hour at a time. Standing for up to five hours per day, one hour at a time. Walking up to three hours per day, thirty minutes at a time. Fingering and handling frequently. Twisting and turning of hands occasionally. Lifting and carrying up to ten pounds, occasionally. Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Occasionally stoops, bends, squats, kneels, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general, near and visual monotony.
EDUCATION:
Ph.D, Psy.D, or Master’s degree in the behavioral health/mental health or education field and at least five (5) years of teaching or clinical practice experience in mental health, drug & alcohol, and/or co-occurring disorders field required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) required. Strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills. Excellent organizational skills. Technical skills consistent with facilitating online training and My E-Learning requirements.
HOURS: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
