The Economy Brand Market Development Manager is responsible for establishing and developing the market presence of TRUMPF’s "economy-brand" in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The position offers a unique opportunity to shape the market entry and growth of TRUMPF’s economy brand in the United States and to contribute significantly to the global success of the TRUMPF Group.
This role is ideal for a self-driven, entrepreneurial professional who combines strategic market development capabilities with strong operational sales and channel management expertise.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Strategic Market Development (60%)
- Define and implement the go-to-market strategy for TRUMPF’s "economy-brand" in the U.S. market, aligned with global economy brand sales, service, and TRUMPF Group objectives.
- Develop and continuously refine a scalable distribution model, including selection, setup, and performance management of distributors.
- Analyze market potential, competitor activities, price structures, and customer trends to derive strategic actions and market positioning.
- Define portfolio requirements and coordinate product-related topics with global product management teams in Asia and Germany.
- Establish the brand’s local marketing presence in coordination with central brand management, including value proposition, communication, and promotional activities.
- Contribute to the global economy brand strategy by providing structured feedback from the U.S. market and ensuring coordination with LATAM regions.
Operational Distributor Management (40%)
- Manage and support distributors in their daily business to achieve revenue, operating income (OI), and margin targets.
- Define annual business targets and track performance based on agreed KPIs (e.g. coverage, OI, dealer performance).
- Conduct product and sales training, joint customer visits, and opportunity reviews to strengthen sales capabilities.
- Support key customer negotiations and ensure effective escalation management between distributors and internal functions.
- Plan and monitor budgets for marketing activities, sales support, and local exhibitions.
- Coordinate second-level service and application support activities to ensure customer satisfaction and sustainable business development.
Responsibilities
- Achievement of regional sales and operating income (OI) targets.
- Interface management between TRUMPF Inc. (USA), global economy brand operations (Asia), and TRUMPF Group headquarters (Germany).
- Ensure compliance with TRUMPF Group standards, legal, and contractual frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in market or business development, preferably within industrial machinery or capital goods.
- Proven track record in distributor management, including setup and performance control.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, pricing strategies, and market analysis.
- Excellent intercultural communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with teams in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
- Fluent in English; additional Spanish or Mandarin skills are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
