Team / division overview

DWS’s data infrastructure team is responsible for providing the secure, scalable and trustworthy foundation for storing, processing and distributing critical enterprise data. As Senior Security Engineer you’ll focus on understanding the threat landscape, architecting integrations with security tools, collaborating with vendors, security monitoring, threat remediation, and cloud infrastructure automation.

Role Details  

As a Senior Security Engineer - Data Infrastructure (m/f/d) you will (be):

  • Design and integrate secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring compliance with our security policies. Architect and integrate security monitoring tools (SIEM) into cloud environments
  • Deploy and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Snowflake using Infrastructure-as-Code to automate cloud resource provisioning and security configurations
  • Manage and optimize GitHub Actions & Runners for seamless CI/CD pipeline automation. Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring security is embedded throughout the development lifecycle and compliance is upheld
  • Configure, manage, and optimize internal security solutions for efficient threat detection and response and collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and operational workflows for improved knowledge sharing and process efficiency

We are looking for 

  • Extensive (8 years or more) hands-on experience in cloud security, preferably GCP. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus
  • Deep experience in DevSecOps practices, infrastructure automation, IaC (e.g. Terraform), security tool integrations, access control design and data protection
  • Good knowledge of SIEM tools and technologies, such as Google SecOps. In-depth knowledge of cloud services and best practices for cloud security
  • Experience in securing critical enterprise data flows on premise and on GCP BigQuery and/or Snowflake
  • Very good programming skills in Python and/or Java
  • Experience with development utilizing software development life cycle (SDLC) tools including Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with vendors, cloud architects, security teams, and third-party service providers. A passion for cybersecurity with a strong aptitude for identifying and solving security challenges in hybrid environments
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
