The Opportunity:
As a CACI DTRA SOF Operations Planner, you will join a high-impact team supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in its mission to counter and deter Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and emerging threats. As a SOF Operations Planner, you will embed with our SOF Partner to provide expert operational planning, advice, and reach-back support to Special Operations Forces (SOF) and interagency partners at all levels of command.
This is a dynamic, high-stakes role for a proven military professional to contribute directly to national security. You will leverage your deep understanding of CWMD strategies and operational planning to advise on the integration of current and future technologies that enable the warfighter to defeat WMD networks.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Planning and Advising: Serve as a subject matter expert on CWMD operational planning for SOF and interagency partners. Apply extensive knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) to develop operational orders, concepts of operation (CONOPs), and other planning documents.
- Technology Integration and Advisement: Advise command leadership on the operationalization of cutting-edge technologies and intelligence. Analyze and assess the impact of new and future technologies on CWMD and irregular warfare capabilities.
- Interagency Collaboration: Collaborate with a broad network of partners across the DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), and other government agencies to synchronize CWMD planning and operations.
- Crisis and Contingency Response: Support national-level concept plans (CONPLANs) for crisis response and execute planning events for joint exercises, ensuring interoperability among partner organizations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Security Clearance: Possess a current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Military Experience: More than 5 years of military, academic, or defense industry functional experience.
- Special Operations Support: Bring a minimum of two years of operational support experience with Special Operations Forces (SOF) units or commands.
- CWMD Knowledge: Recent operational experience supporting CWMD, counter-proliferation (CP), or counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) operations.
- Strategic Understanding: A practical understanding of how DTRA and USSOCOM campaign plans support national security strategies.
- Deployed Experience: Include a minimum of one year of forward-deployed experience while assigned to a SOF unit.
- Military Planning: Apply extensive knowledge of the military planning cycle and tactical ground operations, with a minimum of two years of experience.
- Communication: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaboration: Experience working in Cross Functional Teams, Operational Planning Teams, and other groups that aim to bring disparate capabilities together to achieve military effects.
- Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience, or an Associate's degree and 7 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant work experience. Candidates with 5 years of directly relevant experience will also be considered.
Desired:
- A practical understanding of the National Defense Strategy that directs Integrated Deterrence and that aligns EXORDS, CONPLANS, and OPLANS.
- A practical understanding of how the DTRA Charter and Campaign Plans support Integrated Deterrence.
- Experience working with SOF, SMU, Special or Technical Units of Federal Law Enforcement.
- Working knowledge of USSOCOM, Interagency, and the DOD enterprise.
- Experience in counter proliferation, pathway defeat, counter facilitation, counter-threat finance, or supply chain analysis.
- Understanding of JP 3-40.
- Understanding of SOCOM’s role as the CWMD coordinating authority for the Department of Defense.
- Experience working in an operational staff role supporting CONOP and MICON development.
- Experience working solutions in ambiguous or ill-defined project environments
- Experience developing project milestones and test objectives throughout technical development.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$90,300-$189,600
