Job Summary: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a general Drill Rig Operator Helper given direction by the supervisor and immediate direction by the Lead Drill Rig Operator. Work products will be assessed for safety, completeness, and timeliness.

Minimum Qualifications: (Screen Out Elements) WG-05: I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex operations, preforming drill rigs and attendant tools in order to set up drilling equipment, to include preforming preventative maintenance on various equipment. I have an ability to operate hand and power tools, including a chain saw. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. Physical Effort: Work involves standing for prolonged periods, walking, bending, pushing, reaching, pulling, and lifting heavy objects regularly and often, sometimes with rapid repetitiveness throughout the workday. Objects may sometimes weigh in excess of 94 pounds. Required to participate in the District's HTRW Program and will be included in the Annual Medical Surveillance Program. Working Conditions: Works outside in all kinds of weather, exposed to poison growth, reptiles and insects and under noisy conditions. Is exposed to cuts and bruises, strains and danger of falling while working from barges. Required to wear personnel protection equipment to include hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and occasionally a respirator and other personal protection equipment. Must be able to perform job requirements in the equipment. Required to participate in the annual respirator usage fit-test.
