North American Mining has an immediate opening for a skilled and motivated professional maintenance planner located at its Florida office in Medley, Florida. This position will oversee and direct inspections, planning and scheduling of dragline repairs, including major rebuilds. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical equipment. Promotes coordination between production, maintenance, warehousing and vendors.

Job Description:
 

Essential Duties: 

  • Perform on-site dragline mechanical inspections to help plan and schedule preventive maintenance, major repair and special project work for equipment.
  • Assist with diagnosis and repair of draglines.
  • Assist with plans and schedules for dragline, mechanical and electrical activities and personnel.
  • Coordinate contact with vendors, manufacturers, and outside maintenance services to maintain maximum machine availability.
  • Coordinates maintenance interactions with the warehouse and operations departments to minimize down time and control costs.
  • Manage and coordinate on-site outage, PM and inspection oversight.
  • Assist personnel with the proper use of JD Edwards in order to facilitate proper warehouse procedures and maintenance practices.
  • Research new technology for product development.
  • Prepare budgeting, tracking and analysis.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and all State and Federal environmental regulations.

Other Duties:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Willing to travel between all North American Mining sites.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ability to be effective with people is essential.
  • Must possess a mechanical knowledge of dragline mechanical equipment.
  • Must have familiarity with diesel engines.
  • Must have the ability to comprehend general arrangement drawings of dragline parts books to order parts.
  • Must possess knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics software.
  • Must have computer skills, good writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have good mathematical skills.
  • Should possess analytical and logistical traits.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Training or education in a related field preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with employees, contractors, and vendors.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with diesel and heavy mechanical equipment preferred.
  • Welding knowledge or experience preferred.
  • Blueprint/general arrangement drawing interpretation skills preferred.
  • Strong JD Edwards experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning or maintaining draglines required.
