Job Summary
Under direct supervision, assigned daily work. May explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Help coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and set up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performing hourly stand-watch operations on two Meg Caterpillar C175-16 Generators
- Performing physical walk-through inspection on two Meg C175 Caterpillar Generators
- Physical refueling of two Meg generators.
- Fill up the hourly readings based on performed above checks on generators.
- Prepares daily report based on hourly readings taken from the two Meg Caterpillar Generators
- Prepares the shift schedules for Local Nationals- Prime Power Operators
- Ensuring that AHA/TSTI are taken every day to each shift.
- Maintaining general cleanness in the Prime Power Control Rooms and Yards
- Able to perform switching operations (energizing/de-energizing) on high voltage circuits.
- Need to be able to understand share load operation of power plants, shed plan of power plant, and to react quickly in case of unexpected power outages.
- Understanding of feeders and ET feeders, how power plant works, which ET can be closed, which ET could not be closed at any given time.
- Should be Safety oriented, need to know how properly to use High Voltage PPE and equipment, and need to be familiar with LOTO program.
- Work may involve outdoor Conditions, Height and Lifting 50+lbs
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Electrical or Electrical Engineering, or related field (e.g., Generators).
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, Woodward components, protective relays, Ethernet, and fiber optic cables.
- Ability to safely perform daily operations involving 11,000V power systems.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Must possess a passport book (not a passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity and 4 blank visa/stamp pages.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with multiple interruptions/distractions.
- Excellent customer relations, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in High Voltage, HV cable termination and splicing will serve as an added advantage
- Solid electrical background in high voltages. Certification and diplomas is advantage.
