The Role
Baxter Healthcare are seeking a Distribution Storeperson to join our Warehousing team based in Brunswick, VIC. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals starting their career in a dynamic and encouraging environment. Working under direct supervision of the Team Manager, you will be responsible for handling goods put away and basic assembly of customer orders. These orders are dispatched to both internal and external customers. This entry-level position provides a clear path for career growth.
Note: This is a contingent role that will require:
Shift work- 0700-1506 with the ability to work overtime if needed
Reach truck license is a minimum requirement
Ability to lift up to 20kgs consistently
Experience using RF scanners
Responsibilities
Be trained on, understand, and implement Company, division, and regulatory EHS requirements as applicable to your function
Implement the Policy on EHS Requirements for all operations relevant to your role
Notify about incidents that threaten the environment or individuals through the designated reporting forms or Baxter intranet
Promptly inform senior management and the Environment or Health and Safety Manager of any significant near miss, hazard, injury, or illness
Ensure compliance with government regulations, legal documents, and safety and ethical standards, acquiring legal compliance training
Treat all employees fairly, based on their skills, education, qualifications, experience, abilities, and aptitudes, ensuring decisions are merit-based and provide equal opportunity for all
Manage the basic receiving and order assembly requirements for supplier, internal, and external customer orders, ensuring defect-free receipts and dispatches
Participate in local safety and housekeeping programs to ensure the safety of yourself and colleagues
Report any issues outside the JIBs or safety incidents that could lead to property loss or injury to your Supervisor or Distribution Manager
Perform basic truck and container loading and unloading using the most appropriate materials handling equipment, satisfying the basic JIB requirements
Report opportunities for procedural changes to facilitate effective solutions
Follow and align with all Baxter’s Policies and Procedures.
Key Requirements
Forklift license / Turret permit minimal qualifications
High reach truck (up to five levels) experience is essential
Able to maintain a mature problem-solving attitude while dealing with conflict,
Able to act in solving problems while exhibiting judgement and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason.
Able to start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency
Able to clearly present information through the spoken word; influence or persuade others through oral presentation in positive or negative circumstances; able to listen well
Able to write clearly and effectively present ideas and to document activities; to read and interpret written information
Able to communicate with others in a helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.
