Essential capabilities
- Sound knowledge of Australian and global financial markets, and expertise in the applicable regulatory environments.
- Knowledge of NAB product and service offerings relevant to the role and customer sector.
- A strong understanding of commercial business practices and their application to a transaction.
- Advanced written skills and the ability to articulate complex borrowing structures in a concise and simple manner whether in institutional, corporate, leveraged & acquisition finance, asset finance or trade solutions.
- Advanced analytical/numerate skills and attention to detail with regards to the customer request/borrowing purpose, risk assessment, financial modelling/analysis and documentation knowledge.
- An understanding of tax and accounting principles and standards.
- Commitment to meet deadlines and ability to manage multiple tasks: day-to-day work, deal related, people leadership, workflow / resource management and conduct/compliance training.
- Ability to identify, assess and mitigate potential and actual risks to the business and escalate if necessary.
- Commercial acumen, with an ability to intuitively find value and efficiency, then develop solutions to access it
- Ability to build trusted relationships across the business at all levels
- Excellent influencing, engagement and communication skills; ability to challenge preconceived ideas and face into difficult issues
- Excellent listening skills, to draw out underlying issues and align multiple stakeholders
Experience
- 10+ years of professional experience in financial services or a related discipline
- Experience working with and leading a team environment
Qualification Requirements
- Tertiary qualified with a Degree in Business and preference to post graduate qualifications in law, finance, business or accounting
- Masters, CFA, CA or CPA highly desirable.
Key Decision
- Exercise assigned Delegated Credit Authority (“DCA”), required to make rationale decisions based upon commercial knowledge and experience whilst abiding by NAB’s policy requirements.
- Identify and embed process changes to drive continuous improvement and process efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and maintain oversight of portfolio maintenance activities including portfolio administration, monitoring of facility documentation and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of system data;
- Continuously seek to optimise the return on capital deployed and resources invested by the business
- Proactive workflow management between Client Coverage, CME, Product Specialists, Credit and client support teams, including IB Services, to achieve a seamless client experience;
- Attend client meetings where appropriate to support business outcomes
- Assist Client Coverage in achieving sector revenue, RoE, operating expenses at plan or exceeding plan through supporting portfolio growth initiatives, managing low RoE relationships and growing revenues.
- Actively manage risk and compliance ensuring that the team:
1) Demonstrates clear adherence to Policy, Process, and Procedures including operating within Risk Settings Statement and formally addressing exceptions with appropriate stakeholders.
2) Achieves all target quality measures pertinent to role including undertaking all individual compliance/conduct training.
3) Proactively raises material events, issues or concerns with their People Leader.
