SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the strategic oversight, planning, and leadership of all transportation operations supporting the ElderONE program. This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant transportation services for participants. This leader sets departmental policies and goals, manages budgets and contracts, ensures regulatory compliance, and represents transportation in senior leadership forums. This position is critical to long-term planning and decision-making that supports participant care, operational efficiency, and regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the strategic planning and execution of transportation services to ensure safe, efficient, and participant-centered operations aligned with ElderONE’s mission.
Oversee all transportation functions, including vendor management, fleet maintenance, budgeting, contracts, compliance, and operational planning.
Develop and monitor performance metrics, quality scorecards, and corrective action plans to drive service excellence and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with organizational leaders and represent transportation in senior forums, driving innovation, long-term planning, and technology adoption to enhance participant care.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
7 years of experience in transportation or logistics
5 years leadership experience
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC physical)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree
Experience in transportation or logistics within healthcare or senior services
Experience working with a frail and elderly adult population, preferably in a nursing home, adult day care, home care or PACE setting
Experience maintaining a fleet of 20+ vehicles, including preventative maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with state insurance and DMV requirements
Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts, especially in a regulated environment
Experience with procurement of vehicles and implementing/oversight of a Transportation Safety Program
Experience with trip scheduling software.
Experience investigating and reporting transportation related incidents or accidents
Strong knowledge of transportation compliance standards, including ADA and healthcare-specific regulations

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
