What is the opportunity?
Do you have the ability to take a napkin sketch and see it through to business value delivery? If so, this might be the role for you. This Program Director position in Global Asset Management involves leading transformational initiatives as well as hands-on project management spanning business, technology, and operations. This role requires not only execution skills, but also the ability to set up a program or project, build relationships, determine dependencies and resource requirements, and of course, see the initiative through to delivery. Due to the transformational nature of the initiatives, this project also requires strong change management capabilities.
What will you do?
- Display Program Leadership skills through stakeholder management, team leadership, and management of internal and external dependencies, including providing Governance and Oversight for the delivery of GAM Transformational projects;
- Excel in Project Delivery by establishing and maintaining effective project routines, KPIs and metrics (including status reporting), project compliance requirements, and clear, concise and timely communication to stakeholders;
- Demonstrate exceptional practical Change Management capabilities, including impact analysis, as well as creation and execution of change and communication plans;
- Act as a link between Business and Technology and ensure both aspects of any project are speaking the same language and working toward a common goal;
- Balance Strategic Thinking with tactical action to drive results in support of the GAM and its key stakeholders;
- Contribute to the on-going maturity, quality and speed of transformation delivery through the improvement of agile, change management, and project management methods, standards and best practices;
- Impact and Influence senior leadership team members individually and collectively to drive large-scale change management and transformation projects/programs.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- 8+ years’ experience in program execution with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects with a wide range of geographically diverse stakeholders and skillsets;
- Exceptional communications and change management skills; comfort presenting to executive level leadership; demonstrated skill at producing succinct and factual documentation/content to guide discussions and decisions;
- Ability to define and track key metrics that demonstrate value for data-driven decision making;
- Comfort with ambiguity and able to thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment while handling multiple concurrent activities supported by excellent organizational skills;
- Strong ability to impact and influence without formal authority; confident and approachable and able to deliver results by building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- PMP and/or PgMP certification
- Asset Management Experience / Knowledge
- Advanced understanding and experience of RBC’s Agile, iWF, and Business Agility project management frameworks and tools (e.g. Planview, MS Project, Jira, Leankit, Confluence);
- 5+ years of experience working in a mid- to large-size corporate environment
