Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $143,600.00 - $239,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Director, Parts Operations defines the vision, champions innovation, and ensures alignment with corporate objectives. This role is accountable for delivering operational excellence, driving financial performance, and leading organizational transformation. The director sets the strategic direction for Parts Operations, overseeing the launch and ongoing management of parts warehouses and retail storefronts supporting Fleet Services. Responsibilities include managing warehouse teams across multiple markets, building robust distribution networks, and optimizing final-mile logistics between hubs and delivery points. This position partners closely with Procurement & Purchasing, Inventory, Sales, and Technology to implement best practices and standardized processes across all parts operations locations.

What You'll Do:

  • Define and lead the strategic roadmap for parts distribution and inventory operations 

  • Partner with leadership to evaluate new site locations, support site build out plans, including layout design and staffing models 

  • Lead end-to-end site launch execution from location selection support, layout design, staffing and modeling, lease negotiations, and vendor partnerships, through operational go-live and stabilization 

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the mobile and shop service business as well as external customer relationships within these sites/locations 

  • Oversee a network of warehouses, delivery hubs, and retail storefronts across regions 

  • Lead business-wide process improvement and digital transformation initiatives 

  • Build and scale high-performing teams through strategic workforce planning 

  • Align operational goals with financial targets and internal/external customer expectations 

  • Set national service level standards 

  • Serve as a change agent, guiding the organization through transformation and growth 

  • Represent the function in executive planning, M&A integration, and innovation forums 

 

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 10 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years’ experience in a related field; or 14 years’ experience in a related field

  • Proven success in the design and operation of multimode networks (warehouses, hubs, retail storefronts) including service level design (OTIF, fill rate, cutoff times) and final mile optimization to technicians and shops 

  • P&L exposure (with budgeting/forecasting, tradeoffs, ROI cases, margin expansion via parts mix, pricing, and productivity; align operations to revenue and cost targets 

  • Strong preference for direct experience in the medium/heavy duty diesel and trailer parts industry, including familiarity with product lines and distribution models 

  • Comfortable with sales enablement for parts/retail growth 

  • Understanding of footprint strategy and optimization across all parts retail and warehouse environments, with consideration for medium/heavy duty diesel and trailer parts specific needs 

  • Comfort navigating vendor relationships and lease negotiations in support of site readiness and go-live execution

  • Expertise in strategic workforce planning and building high-performing teams in dynamic environments

  • Skilled in change management and organizational transformation, acting as a catalyst for innovation and continuous improvement

  • Proficiency in operational excellence methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and process improvement frameworks

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies

  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and digital tools supporting logistics and inventory control

  • Travel up to 75%
