Title: Director of Recruitment

Position Overview:

SMA is seeking a Director of Recruiting who thrives on autonomy, movement, and meaningful connections. This role is ideal for someone who loves ultimate freedom, dislikes sitting still, and is passionate about recruiting insurance agents into high-performing platforms.

Target Recruit: LOA agents in Kentucky and Tennessee for strategic expansion into Buffalo Health Advisors, SMA, and additional affiliate markets which include AZ, AL, AR, FL, MO, MS, NM, and NY.

 All push markets starting with Lexington and Louisville, KY.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruiting efforts for LOA agents into SMA and Buffalo platforms.
  • Focus on agent growth in Kentucky and Tennessee, with additional outreach to affiliate regions.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers who will continue working select leads.
  • Drive recruiting strategy based on product margin KPIs, not just volume.
  • Represent SMA in the field by attending industry events, networking, and agent meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents to ensure long-term success.

  • Passionate about recruiting and empowering insurance agents.
  • Strong understanding of insurance distribution models and agent needs.
  • Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with team goals.

Performance Metrics:

  • KPIs will be tied to product margins and agent productivity.
  • Success will be measured by agent onboarding, retention, and performance within SMA/Buffalo platforms (30,60,90, 180 days).

Compensation:

Position Type: W2

Base Salary: $70,000

Bonus: Subject to change

Start Date: January 2026
