Position Summary

At McKesson, we deliver better health by ensuring our customers receive the products they need — safely, efficiently, and on time. As Director of Operations for our Holt Distribution Center, you’ll lead all aspects of facility performance, including operational execution, financial accountability, inventory management, and strategic planning.

You’ll be responsible for creating a high-performing environment that prioritizes safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. This role partners closely with regional and cross-functional teams to align local execution with enterprise goals and deliver exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align local operations with regional strategy and enterprise initiatives.

  • Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure teams are working toward shared goals.

  • Collaborate with Sales, HR, Engineering, Six Sigma, Finance, and Transportation to drive performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, customer needs, and labor planning challenges.

  • Support profitable growth through partnership with Sales and Buying Center teams.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of up to 10 DC leaders and 100+ employees.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Model McKesson’s ICARE and ILEAD values in all interactions.

  • Drive employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning.

  • Address workforce challenges including turnover, generational dynamics, and DEI initiatives.

Operational & Financial Ownership

  • Own P&L performance, budgeting, and expense control for the facility.

  • Monitor and analyze operational metrics to support cost-effective decision-making.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and minimize exposure to risk and loss.

Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations (DEA, FDA, OSHA).

  • Lead internal audits and ensure SOP adherence across operations.

  • Champion a culture of safety through training, monitoring, and proactive risk mitigation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years in a management role

  • Proven ability to lead complex operations and drive strategic outcomes

Critical Skills

  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex decision-making environments

  • Experience with WMS systems, warehouse control systems, and material handling equipment

  • Deep understanding of drug distribution and wholesaling across customer segments

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and McKesson’s suite of PC-based applications

  • Demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing teams

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$111,200 - $185,300
