The Director of Group Sales will work with the Group Sales Team in establishing and implementing market territory action plans, responsible for revenue by achieving room night and group goals and assisting in the development of the sales team.
- Targets group accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation
- Partners with group colleagues to effectively manage business opportunities
- Responds to and manages larger and more complex incoming group opportunities for the property
- Identifies, qualifies, and solicits new group business to achieve personal and property revenue goals
- Focuses efforts on group/catering accounts with significant potential sales revenue
- Organize and supervise department activities including qualification and placement of leads by territory working with the sales manager in establishing and implementing a documented strategy including proposals/presentations, business analysis.
- Review and ensure follow through on established group strategies and review of all contractual terms.
- Direct group sales managers to develop and refine their skills and prepare each team member for advancement.
- Develops target lists and action plans for team’s account solicitation. Assists in assignment and distribution of leads and inquiries. Assists in the approval of file turnovers.
- In support of sales team, meets with clients on property, during outside sales calls and attends major trade shows around the country in order to assist in developing and closing major pieces of business.
- Ensures that the sales team is focused on always selling to future groups and that definite booked groups are appropriately turned over to convention services, allowing future sales to be made
Qualifications
- college degree preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hotel reservations, front office, or sales & catering.
- Proficiency in reservation systems (e.g., Opera, Delphi, or similar).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Knowledge of group sales processes and event planning.
- Familiarity with hotel revenue management principles.

Pay Range
* Pay range $97,000 - $98,737. Anually
Non-Union: The base pay offered may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and specific/overall experience.
