We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead multiple teams responsible for delivering a strategic product within Salesforce’s Security ecosystem, as part of the Trusted Services organization. This role requires a hands-on, technically strong, and quality-focused leader who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, large-scale distributed environment. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with deep technical expertise and the ability to execute complex initiatives with precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple engineering teams delivering a mission-critical, high-visibility product in the Salesforce Security ecosystem.

  • Drive end-to-end execution — from design and architecture through development, testing, deployment, and operational excellence.

  • Partner with Product, Architecture, and Program Management to align strategy, priorities, and delivery goals.

  • Foster a culture of technical excellence and accountability, emphasizing code quality, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Mentor and develop engineering leaders, guiding them in planning, decision-making, and career growth.

  • Ensure scalability and resilience of distributed systems operating at massive global scale.

  • Champion best practices in secure software development, compliance, and observability across the stack.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in an engineering leadership role managing multiple teams.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, distributed systems in a high-availability, customer-facing environment.

  • Strong technical foundation in modern cloud architectures and scalable backend systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex programs with cross-functional dependencies.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.

  • A related technical degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Security or data protection background is a strong plus.

  • Experience in Salesforce ecosystem or enterprise SaaS environments preferred.

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $230,800 to $334,600.
