How you’ll be impactful:

As a Director of Engineering, Mobile, you will lead a team of mobile engineers and oversee the strategy and architecture for our Flutter and native mobile applications, ensuring high-quality experiences for our B2C users. You will combine hands-on expertise with visionary leadership to drive the evolution of our mobile platform.

Please note: This role will require being in our SF office at least 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the mobile engineering team, emphasizing robust engineering practices, continuous skill development, and effective collaboration.
  • Define and execute the mobile engineering strategy in alignment with company goals and product vision.
  • Define and drive adoption of technical standards, architecture guidelines, and best practices to ensure sustainable, scalable, and high-quality code.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to translate business and user goals into actionable technical strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize development processes, release pipelines, and team workflows—leveraging AI tools and automation to increase team efficiency.
  • Evaluate emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, making recommendations to enhance our mobile platform and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Advocate for best practices in accessibility, localization, performance, and user experience.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • 10+ years of mobile development experience, including Flutter, iOS (Swift), and Android (Kotlin).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineers and defining technical strategy.
  • Skilled in designing and evolving mobile architecture that ensure maintainability, reliability, and long-term growth.
  • Strong experience translating business and product goals into actionable technical strategies.
  • Expertise in evaluating emerging technologies, including agent-based AI, and implementing solutions that advance mobile platforms and team efficiency.
  • Hands-on technical skills to guide architecture, review code, and provide mentorship when needed.
  • Demonstrated success optimizing development processes, release pipelines, and team workflows.
  • Deep understanding of testing strategies and frameworks, including unit, integration, and automated testing, to ensure high-quality mobile delivery.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, collaborate across teams, and build alignment while driving consensus among cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement to drive outcomes.

Pay Transparency:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $190,000-$220,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
