Reuters is looking for an experienced Director of Consumer Product to head our consumer product team. In this new role, you'll lead the ideation, development, and launch of innovative consumer products across the Reuters web and mobile app, managing a high-performing team of product managers, and using a data-driven approach to enhance user satisfaction and drive revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, particularly in digital media publisher settings. They should have a strong understanding of monetization strategies (both in direct-to-consumer subscriptions and advertising), agile processes, and emerging AI technology.

About the Role

As Director of Consumer Product at Reuters, you will:

  • Lead a team through the ideation, technical development and launch of innovative products for our consumer properties, including our website and mobile app. 

  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer focus.

  • Influence senior stakeholders and build consensus on strategies and priorities, fostering a ‘test and learn’ approach to product management.

  • Use a data-driven approach to drive product development; integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver products that meet user needs and drive revenue growth.

  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products.

  • Understand Reuters’ strategic and competitive position, stay abreast of industry trends, anticipate changes in the competitive landscape, and deliver products that are recognized as best in the industry.

  • Manage multiple products and priorities, scale teams, and ensure that org is effective, healthy and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Director of Consumer Product at Reuters if you have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a product management setting, with a focus on consumer products in a digital media publisher setting.

  • Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, including individual contributors and managers.

  • Strong understanding of monetization strategies in the digital media space, including experience with direct-to-consumer subscriptions and digital media advertising.

  • Experience leading product management through agile processes and methodologies, A/B testing, and emerging AI technology and opportunities.

  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data and research to inform product decisions.

  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape and ability to anticipate industry trends, including experience leveraging gen AI and large language models to solve user problems.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $177,380 - $329,420. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
