About the role

The Technology and Innovation Director will lead and develop a high-performing Technical team to drive product lifecycle excellence, process optimization, and innovation at the Lincoln Nebraska site. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure continuity of supply, compliance, and strategic growth through technical leadership, capability building, and continuous improvement.

Role Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and coach a high-performing team, manage performance, foster engagement, and support talent development including succession planning and graduate programs.
  • Technical Strategy & Execution:
    • Oversee all technical aspects of product lifecycle: NPI, tech transfers, PPQ/PCQ, change control, risk management, and packaging/materials sourcing.
    • Lead process and packaging engineering, artwork delivery, and supplier de-risking initiatives.
    • Drive technical excellence through process capability improvements, control strategies, and robust verification.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide matrix leadership across Technical, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Packaging, and Logistics to translate strategies into operational execution.
  • Innovation & Optimization: Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product robustness.
  • Issue Resolution & Compliance: Lead rapid resolution of technical issues using RCA and CAPA methodologies; ensure GMP/GxP compliance and support audits.
  • Performance & Budget Management: Establish KPIs, manage budgets effectively, and deliver cost-saving initiatives aligned with site metrics.
  • Strategic Growth & External Engagement: Collaborate with Commercial, Category, and R&D teams to integrate technical insights into broader business strategies.

Leadership Accountabilities

  • Safety & Environment: Champion EHS standards, conduct regular safety assessments, and foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental responsibility.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Monitor team wellbeing, support preventive health programs, and promote work-life balance and conflict resolution.
  • Quality Culture: Uphold product safety and compliance, lead quality initiatives, and drive continuous improvement through audits and deviation management.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science fields is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in technology implementation and production is a must.
  • A minimum of 5 years in technical leadership within manufacturing or R&D is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Engineering or Science fields (or other relevant advanced degree)
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project/change management.
  • Deep understanding of GMP, regulatory standards, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to enable and driving change, delivering solutions, developing people and building relationships across multiple interfaces in a matrix environment
  • Excellent organizational, project management skills on major technical and/or capital projects
  • Ability to use and interpret data to drive decision making at both tactical and strategic level
  • Understanding of quality by design and risk management approaches
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical/product development
  • Knowledge of manufacturing unit operations and plant/laboratory equipment
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels in the organization

Location:  Lincoln, NE with in-office requirements. This is not a remote position.
