Summary:
The Director, ICON MAx, International Market Access, is a strategic leader responsible for driving market access and pricing strategies across several geographies in MEA, LatAm, and Brazil. Reporting to the Head of ICON MAx (Market Access), this role ensures alignment between local Intercon Market Access teams and Global Market Access, supporting the entire BMS portfolio and pipeline.
Will collaborate with global and local MAx leaders, Global Policy, Medical, and Commercial teams to communicate the value of BMS therapies to government authorities, Private Payers, and HTA organizations. The Director will develop in collaboration with Local and Regional teams innovative access, pricing, and contracting solutions to secure patient access and manage New Product Portfolio (NPP) workstreams for pipeline assets.
The ideal candidate will have Market Access experience from within a Country/Affiliate, and brings deep expertise in Latin America. Ideally, the candidate will also have Middle East & Africa market access knowledge. This candidate will possess broad knowledge across Oncology, Hematology, Neurology, Cardiology, and Immunology. Strong skills in global payment systems, pricing, health economics, evidence generation, and real-world data are essential, along with experience leading cross-functional teams and developing impactful communication tools for payers, regulators, advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders.
Success in this role requires exceptional matrix management, the ability to oversee multiple projects, and a commitment to accountability, innovation, and knowledge-sharing.
This role will collaborate across key selected markets too:
Maximize pipeline value through strategic planning and evidence generation, integrating regional market access perspectives into the development and prioritization of pipeline assets to ensure future readiness in a dynamic environment.
Deliver on the BMS growth portfolio and execute near-term launches by accelerating strategic decision-making to unlock the full value of innovative medicines.
Advance BMS and the MAx culture and build a community of practice by fostering a connected access team that embraces change and proactively shapes a shared future.
Responsibilities
Represent Market Access (Global, Regional and Countries) within the LatAm-LT meetings
Disseminate global market access strategies for BMS’s in-line and pipeline assets in ICON, integrating these strategies into broader regional commercial plans in close collaboration with cross-functional local and regional leads.
Partner with Global Market Access and Pricing Leads to ensure registrational trial designs address future ICON market access requirements.
Serve as a strategic extension of the Head of ICON MAx, facilitating seamless communication and information flow across in-country MAx teams.
Drive priority market access projects and initiatives, collaborating with Global Market Access, HEOR, Pricing, and GP&GA to ensure successful execution.
Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to support decision-making, including preparing reports and presentations for MAx stakeholders.
Monitor and assess the Worldwide pricing and access landscape, offering expert guidance to MAx teams, regional leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to support informed, strategic decisions.
Strengthen collaboration and alignment across functional areas and market access colleagues, sharing best practices and ensuring flawless execution of market access activities.
Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, diversity, and inclusion within the team.
Engage with key external stakeholders like Pharma or Academic Organizations to position BMS Pricing and Access vision and interests.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in market access, health economics, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in pharmaceutical market access or related roles, ideally with both local/affiliate and regional role knowledge.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese highly desired.
Experience in global biopharmaceuticals, preferably across oncology, hematology, cardiovascular, immunology, neuroscience, and cell therapy.
Expertise in market access, drug pricing, pricing systems, and global pharmaceutical policy.
Strong ability to drive performance and build alignment across matrix teams through influence.
Proven track record of collaborating across business functions (Commercial, R&D, Corporate Affairs, Global Policy, Government Affairs, External Partners) and cultivating strong working relationships.
Demonstrated adaptability in diverse cultures, business scenarios, and complex matrix environments.

Compensation Overview:
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
