Director, Global Workplace Operations

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Global Workplace Operations to lead and oversee the execution and operational management of our global workplace operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, workplace strategy implementation, and operational excellence, with a proven ability to drive efficiency, innovation, and collaboration across diverse locations.

Key Responsibilities

The Director will be responsible for the comprehensive delivery of global workplace services, focusing on effective management and continuous improvement.

  • Implement Global Workplace Strategy: Execute and manage the comprehensive workplace strategy, ensuring clear alignment with the company's vision, values, and business objectives. This includes providing direct oversight and operational support for the Food & Beverage program and the Global Culture & Connection program.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day management of facilities, services, and resources to ensure safe, compliant, and highly efficient workplace environments across all locations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of workplace operations professionals, providing hands-on guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including internal business partners and external vendors, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance existing workplace processes, leverage technology, and advance our sustainability practices.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance, identify actionable insights, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Project Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support local workplace design projects, implement workplace technology solutions, and manage emergency preparedness planning.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to workplace operations and critical health and safety requirements.
  • Budget Management: Manage the departmental budget, monitoring expenditures and ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in workplace operations, facilities management, and employee experience to maintain operational relevance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in workplace operations, facilities management, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years managing a team or global portfolio. (Reduced from 10+ years/5+ in senior leadership)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-site or regional/global workplace operations in a complex environment. (Shift from global scale to management within a global structure)
  • Strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills, with an ability to engage and motivate direct reports.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and hands-on problem-solving abilities.
  • Operational focus with the ability to translate strategic plans into actionable, well-managed initiatives.
  • Familiarity with workplace technology solutions, core sustainability practices, and current industry trends.
  • Professional certifications in facilities management (e.g., CFM, FMP) are a plus.

Additional Information

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25% of the time.
  • This role needs to be filled in San Francisco

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in San Francisco Bay Area. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:
$206,000$310,000 USD
