ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director, Global Portfolio Leader, Rigid Plastics, Home Storage, Resins & Molds, you will be accountable for the strategic leadership of the category spend  approximately $700MM.

In this role, you’ll develop and manage a global Procurement strategy for Rigid Plastics, Resins & Molds to deliver on cost & cash improvements, innovation, risk management, sustainability and other key elements of supplier relationships.  You will be required to influence cross functional stakeholders in order to deliver against a very technical and complex category. 

You’ll develop and lead strategic partnerships with a select group of suppliers to assure supply continuity and responsiveness in supply of required materials, as well as achieve a preferred status in the presentation of new technologies and opportunities, while creating a cost advantaged position for SC Johnson.

Additionally, you will lead a team of 11 employees in multiple geographies, driving performance at both the global and regional levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owns and leads the Global Strategy for Global Rigid Plastic, Resins and Molds Portfolio.  Develop and execute Global strategy through:

    • Supplier selection and development based on category strategy.

    • Development of global procurement strategies while taking into consideration regional needs.

    • Cost modelling, conducting RFI/ RFP processes.

    • Contract negotiation/execution.

    • New Product (Innovation) support and scouting.

  • Engages with business stakeholders to develop long-term strategies to deliver business growth through Innovation and DP margin improvement.

  • Leads supplier relationships to drive Product Innovation, Sustainability, Speed to Market, Supply Assurance and other business objectives.

  • Delivers committed Cost Savings, Working Capital Improvement other global financial targets.

  • Identifies sustainability trends in plastics and contributes to the delivery of SCJ sustainability targets.

  • Maintains knowledge of global/regional supply commodity trends and market dynamics.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to estimate cost impact to the budget and re-estimate processes.

  • Leads special projects in support of long-term business objectives; e.g., commodity harmonization or standardization programs, spec optimization, complexity reduction, new product launches etc.

  • Develops and leads the Global Mold Management Team to create Molds Strategy in combination with cross-functional stakeholders to create a competitive advantage for SCJ.

  • Develops internal team to drive results across SCJ strategic priorities.

  • Work closely with team on their career development.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering/Business/Finance or related degree

  • 10 + years overall experience within Supply Chain, Finance and/or Procurement

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement Leadership role

  • People Management experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • MBA or Masters Degree preferred

  • Experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry

  • Global people management experience

  • Purchasing or Supply Chain certifications

  • Business experience in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or RD&E in a supplier facing role

  • Experience leading Top to Top meetings
