The Director Finance Regulatory and Economic Strategy will provide strategic leadership and direction to the GDS Finance team with respect the regulatory strategy and support for each Natural Gas Utility jurisdiction. This role will also provide advice to Senior Leadership on the regulatory process, opportunities, regulatory treatment and recovery of costs and will work closely with the Director, Regulatory Strategy and the Director Legal Regulatory Strategy to optimize recovery, returns and rate base growth in each jurisdiction.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams in various locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Direct the Finance team in performing critical functions in support of Regulatory applications and strategy to drive greater return, EBITDA and rate base growth for GDS.

  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex regulatory filings, and regulatory audits, ensuring accountability and timeliness of response.

  • Drive process efficiency and standardization of regulatory support processes across locations, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency.

  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, including oversight of finance deliverables in support of various regulatory filings including evidence, testimony, analysis, and regulatory reporting.

  • Grow and sustain collaborative working relationships with the senior leaders across Enbridge.

  • Direct and govern the development and maintenance of the analysis for different economic frameworks in each jurisdiction to evaluate potential outcomes of varying frameworks and potential decisions.

  • Champion process efficiency across the functions to support the delivery of multiple financial outputs including monthly variance analysis, high-level forecasts, periodic detailed forecasts, annual budgets and long-range plans.

  • Liaise with senior leadership to understand growth opportunities in Gas Distribution and understand initiatives to ensure proper accounting and regulatory accounting treatment.

  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
     

Who You Are:

Required:

  • Business degree with Finance related designation (CMA, CA, CPA, CGA, CFA or similar) with an MBA preferred;

  • Minimum 15 years progressive financial management experience with business performance analytics

  • Broad business acumen and understanding of regulatory environments/financial management strategies and reporting requirements;

  • Ability to think strategically and conceptualize future state with planning and execution experience.

  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-site teams and driving organizational change.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence executives and stakeholders at all levels.
