Summary: 

 
In this role, you will lead multiple software and quality engineering teams responsible for developing and maintaining robust internal and external analytics applications that empower healthcare providers to optimize costs and improve outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in shaping product and engineering strategies, driving architectural excellence, and ensuring alignment between technical execution and business objectives. You will inspire high-performing teams, foster a culture of collaboration and accountability, and champion modern engineering practices that enhance the scalability, security, and impact of Vizient’s analytics solutions. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage, inspire, and develop high-performing software and quality engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Actively engage with product management, technical leads, engineers, and executive leadership to align engineering efforts with strategic business objectives. 
  • Evaluate tools and technologies, make informed architectural decisions, and guide technical direction for several applications.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leads, supporting career development and leading hiring efforts to attract and retain top engineering talent. 
  • Oversee engineering budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning to ensure efficient utilization of resources. 
  • Champion strong engineering practices, agile methodologies, and proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management and delivery tracking. 
  • Collaborate closely with product management, security, cloud operations, and architecture teams to ensure cohesive product development and secure, scalable solutions. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, product performance, and analytics capabilities through adoption of emerging technologies and best practices. 
  • Build consensus across teams and departments to promote alignment, transparency, and accountability. 
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet standards for reliability, maintainability, and scalability. 
  • Support strategic initiatives aimed at advancing healthcare analytics and data-driven decision-making. 
  • Represent engineering priorities and progress to executive leadership and other stakeholders. 

Qualifications: 

  • Relevant degree preferred in Computer Science/Engineering or related field 
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required. 
  • Proven experience leading software and quality engineering teams in the development of analytics or data-driven applications required. 
  • Strong technical foundation with hands-on experience in modern software development and cloud-based architectures required. 
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog and delivery tracking required. 
  • Experience with technologies such as Angular, Power BI, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, SQL Server, Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Kotlin, Java, Azure AI, OCR, and LLMs (or a comparable tech stack) highly preferred.
  • Experience applying agile methodologies and engineering best practices in complex environments highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering budgets, resources, and talent development. 
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and implement emerging tools and technologies. 
  • Domain expertise in healthcare analytics, supply chain analytics, or data processing for healthcare organizations preferred. 

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.
