Job Description Summary

The Director of Employee Relations is responsible for leading the organization’s employee relations strategy, ensuring a positive workplace culture, and managing complex employee issues. This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, HR partners, and employees, balancing organizational goals with fair and consistent treatment of staff.

Job Description

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement employee relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
    • Partner with senior leadership to foster a culture of trust, accountability, and inclusion.
    • Monitor workforce trends and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Employee Relations Management
    • Oversee investigations into employee complaints, misconduct, and policy violations.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
    • Provide guidance to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Policy & Compliance
    • Review, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
    • Ensure consistent application of policies across departments.
    • Collaborate with legal counsel on complex employee relations matters.
  • Training & Development
    • Design and deliver training programs for managers on employee relations best practices.
    • Build organizational capability in handling workplace issues effectively.
    • Promote awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Data & Reporting
    • Track employee relations metrics and trends to inform leadership decisions.
    • Prepare reports on investigations, grievances, and workplace climate.
    • Recommend improvements based on data insights.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 157,250.00 - $185,000.00
