Your New Role: A Director of Data Analytics & Operations leads the development of data-focused products or features that improve decision making and business processes. 

Your Role Accountabilities: 

Data Product Strategy & Roadmap: This role will work closely with our enterprise data team(s) to develop and implement Licensing & Publishing Technology’s overall data strategy, aligning it with business goals. They will collaborate with our business users to understand data needs. They will translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives. They will champion data-driven innovation and stay current on industry trends, tools, and software.

Analysis, Reporting & Insights: This role will collaborate with portfolio managers, product teams and end users to operationalize the embedding of analytics into business system processes. They will lead and mentor users and tech team members to help them realize the benefits of advanced analytics that drive sharper faster decisions. They will assess whether reporting should be embedded within transactional applications and/or if data should be aggregated into a data warehouse/data lake for more robust analytics. 

Team Leadership & Data Product Management: They build, mentor, and manage teams that execute our data initiatives and continuously improve existing applications and platforms. They will be accountable for the team’s data deliverables including data models, database schemas, data dictionaries (physical & logical), data flow diagrams and ERDs as well as dashboard and reports. The Director will ensure that the product delivery teams work closely with the Change Management team to ensure rollout plan inclusive of training drives user adoptions. 

Qualifications & Experiences: 

  • 15+ years of experience 
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field 
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Agile framework
  • Experience driving project execution with highly matrixed teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence across all levels of an organization without formal authority and work with technical and non-technical teams in a dynamic environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills 
  • Expertise in machine learning and predictive modeling
  • Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms and their associated tools 
  • Proven experience managing the execution of the following deliverables
    • Data Models
    • Database Schemas
    • Data Dictionary (Logical & Physical)
    • Data Flow Diagrams
    • ERDs 
    • Dashboard & Reports
  • Experience with the following technologies
    • ERPs (MS Dynamic 365 Business Central)
    • CRMs (Salesforce) 
    • Data Warehouse (Snowflake, Databrick, etc.) 
    • Databases (SQL, Tableau Servers) 
    • Analytics & Insights Tools (Tableau & PowerBI)
    • Productivity Tools (Jira & Confluence) 

Not Required but preferred experience: 

  • A Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field like data science, statistics, or computer science can provide a competitive edge. 
  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) 
  • Mastery of programming languages like Python and R beyond basic usage, and proficiency with advanced SQL

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $177,170.00 - $329,030.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
