A Day in the Life:

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Corporate Responsibility is responsible for overseeing and advancing the company’s global ethical sourcing initiatives, focusing on social & environmental compliance, worker well-being and industry initiatives, vendor management, and in-region intellectual property protection. This leadership role is pivotal in driving corporate responsibility goals, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry best practices, and mitigating risk across the supply chain.

RESPONSIBLILITY

Strategic Oversight & Strategy

  • Oversee and advance the company’s global social & environmental compliance program, aligned with international labor standards, such as ILO conventions, UN Guiding Principles, and local laws.
  • Define audit protocols in collaboration with third party audit partners and develop strategies for effective corrective action plans (CAPs) with suppliers.
  • Educate, raise awareness, and partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to improve supplier compliance performance and integrate compliance into business operations.
  • Create operational efficiencies for vendor communications, and drive collaboration between Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability teams.

Compliance Program Management

  • Oversee the compliance program for vendors across all supply chain tiers through third party audits, assessments, risk analysis, and CAPs to ensure adherence to industry best practices and latest regulations.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, ensuring transparency and accountability, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and ethical practices.
  • Monitor social & environmental risks through screening software to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Provide regular reporting of key metrics, audit results, risk insight, and progress against goals to senior leadership in the Legal, Sustainability, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Develop training programs for suppliers, internal teams, and sourcing staff on compliance topics.

Worker Well-being Initiatives and Industry Alliances

  • Manage and advance worker well-being initiatives and partnerships, including RISE and BetterWork.
  • Evaluate and launch new corporate responsibility and worker well-being initiatives.
  • Support and facilitate artisan craftmanship initiatives.

Vendor Onboarding & Management

  • Oversee supplier onboarding process.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental process (PD, Production, Quality, Operations, Logistics) to ensure consistent and accurate vendor information across systems (PLM, SAP, etc.).
  • Ensure traceability in systems as a foundation for reporting.
  • Evolve and leverage existing vendor management tools/software and new technology to manage a growing supplier base with greater efficiency and automation.

Intellectual Property Protection

  • Oversee the IP protection program for suppliers to mitigate IP risks in the supply chain.
  • Conduct product examinations and support necessary legal actions in Hong Kong.

Other

  • Support public disclosures such as sustainability reports, Modern Slavery Act statements, and ESG initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with global regulatory trends and influence company policy accordingly.
  • Travel as needed to key sourcing regions to build relationships, monitor performance, and support remediation efforts.

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Rights, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in social & environmental compliance, ethical sourcing, or corporate social responsibility in the fashion or retail sector.
  • Deep understanding of global labor laws, audit methodologies (e.g., SMETA, WRAP, BSCI), and supply chain transparency tools.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced reporting and presentation skills, analytic thinking, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, and knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.).
