  • Producing original, timely, and thought-provoking research across written reports, presentations, videos, podcasts, and social media

  • Supporting trading and risk management activities with high-quality analysis and forecasts

  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients

  • Enhancing the brand and reputation of the team through media engagement and client interactions

  • Leading and mentoring junior economists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

  • Adhering to editorial, media, privacy, and compliance protocols, including GEMR peer review procedures

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll ideally bring:

  • A deep understanding of commodity markets (preferably base and precious metal experience)

  • Contribute thought leadership to the decarbonisation of the resources sector

  • Relevant experience as a commodity analyst in finance, government, research, or related fields

  • Strong analytical capability and experience working with large datasets

  • Advanced technical skills in Excel and statistical software (R or Python)

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex ideas for diverse audiences

  • A collaborative and curious mindset, with a passion for learning and innovation

  • A bachelor’s degree in economics (or equivalent); Honours or postgraduate studies highly regarded

  • A leadership style aligned with our principles: obsess over customers, lead as an owner, create exceptional teams, and be curious and humble

This opportunity will give you exposure to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the business whilst being part of a team that is focused, smart, hardworking, and passionate about our shared vision to create the very best experience for our customers.
