Director, Business Operations, Oncology (Secondment - 12 months)

ROLE SUMMARY

The Secondee Business Operations for Oncology will provide business support to the Senior Director of Business Operations (DBO) in service of the President, Oncology Commercial, and help coordinate activities across the Commercial Oncology business. This role will support various initiatives, including those for people empowerment/engagement, global and US Strategic planning and OP processes, communications and special events and provide other important operational support for the Oncology Commercial Office.
 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy:

  • Strategic thought partner of the Senior Director of Business Operations throughout the global and US operating plan process. Special focus on supporting the global process and the global VPs throughout the planning period.
    • Support the process for the annual Global and US Strategic and Operating Plan
    • Additional point person for Operating Plan Captains and Finance Leads
    • Coordinate with the CMO and other platform function on parallel deliverables
  • Thought partner for the roll-out and scaling of AI capabilities in 2026 with a focus on partnering with the CMO to ensure effective training and capability building in the Oncology marketing community; support new AI processes (e.g. AI Counsel);

Business Operations:

  • Support day-to-day operational support for the Oncology Commercial President's key interactions, meetings, presentations, etc. and ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Help address and coordinate resolution of requests from various Pfizer stakeholders (e.g., Oncology LT members, CMO, ICO, etc.)
  • Lead a workstream to streamline promotional materials and support brand teams to prioritize and focus while realizing efficiencies by retiring resources
  • Support planning, management and coordination of select meetings (e.g., Performance Reviews, regional conferences, customer engagements, etc.)
  • Schedule and/or plan events for the President Commercial Oncology and the COLT. Assist in the preparation (presentations, briefing documents, etc.) as required
  • Support planning and execution of commercial townhalls, drive new ideas for colleague engagement; serve as key member of the culture team
  • Support the implementation of talent growth and culture initiatives, in partnership with the culture team and PX
  • Support internal communications of the Commercial Oncology Office and the President
  • Support the DBO in the delivery of Board Reports and Earnings Reports requests through proactive gathering of information, streamlining, ensuring quality and timely submission
  • Partner with Portfolio Marketing on key initiatives for colleague development (e.g. OncoElevate, Community Oncology/Urology Strategy)

Financial Performance

  • Work with the DBO to identify opportunities for efficiencies in managing departmental expenditures
  • Support the Congress planning team in coordinating attendance tracking and planning
  • In partnership with Finance & PX develop an approach for rigorous tracking of HC movements and HC expenses

Project Leadership

  • Act as a leader and/or point of contact for selected projects, either alone or in partnership with others
  • Provide input to other leaders/teams/colleagues as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • 7+ years of experience with graduate degree (MBA, Pharm.D., Ph.D. or other related graduate-level degree); 8+ years of experiences with Bachelors’ degree;
  • Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare environment, experience in a commercial role preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic and operating plan processes
  • Strong project, time management and organizational skills including change leadership
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Executive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex situations in a matrix organizational structure
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking abilities
