We are seeking a skilled and motivated Privacy & AI Culture Lead to join our data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence team (the “Digital Legal Office” or “DLO”) within the Legal department. This role is critical in fostering a culture of privacy awareness, ethical data handling, and accountability across the organization. This role drives engagement through training, communication, and stakeholder advocacy, ensuring that privacy principles are embedded into everyday operations. By managing intake workflows, maintaining knowledge resources, and supporting governance activities, the Privacy Culture Lead empowers teams to uphold privacy standards and contributes to the continuous improvement of the privacy program.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Training & Awareness Program Leadership & Expertise:

  • Own the development and execution of enterprise-wide Privacy & AI training and awareness strategy, in alignment with the DLO Governance Framework responsibilities, to influence the culture across the enterprise.
  • Serve as a key resource and advisor for DLO culture initiatives and Organizational Change Management (OCM), shaping the approach to Privacy & AI risk and compliance and influencing senior leaders, privacy personnel, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead large-scale culture and training projects, managing budgets and resources set by management.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and measurement of training programs, ensuring they meet organizational needs and compliance requirements.
  • Anticipate changes in Privacy and AI regulations and organizational needs, developing proactive action plans to address emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex privacy training and culture challenges that impact the Digital Legal Office and related business areas.

Content & Collaboration Management:

  • Own and manage DLO content channels, including intranet sites, newsfeed, internal social media groups, AI chatbots, and Sharepoint/Teams sites.
  • Develop and deliver internal training and business communication tactics that support the maturity of Privacy and AI risk and compliance.
  • Responsible for strategic planning and delivery of Data Privacy Week, DLO collaboration days and full team meetings
  • Supports DLO control owners with communications and OCM
  • Manage DLO onboarding/offboarding process and training plans
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and technical teams to embed key messages into digital transformation initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Leadership, Organizational Management, Communications, Public Relations, or related degree
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience 
  • 3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Training & Awareness, Communications, and/or OCM roles
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Master’s degree preferred, in Instructional Systems Technology, Performance Technology, Adult Learning, Human Resources, or related experience/education
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide Training & Awareness programs for Privacy or Security teams
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder coordination, training delivery and facilitating large or multi-day meetings.
  • Experience in Organizational Change Management: Skills driving organizational change initiatives to successfully implement new processes, technologies, or transformations while managing stakeholder engagement, Prosci-certified a plus
  • Experience leading learning transformation initiatives
  • Technical proficiency, especially with AI tools, managing Sharepoint/Teams sites, Chat in a Box, audio/video and other communication tools/platforms
  • Experience in providing effective training and support to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively partner and work cross-functionally, cross-culturally, and with individuals at all levels across a matrixed organization globally
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple projects, multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • High attention to detail in maintaining training material, preparing communications and project plans.
  • Leadership: Ability to influence and drive change across the organization through strategic risk management initiatives.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a track record of delivering high-impact, scalable solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex projects and manage budgets.
  • Understanding of privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their application in a global context.
  • Working knowledge of privacy, risk and compliance frameworks, including: NIST AI RMF, NIST Privacy Framework, ISO standards, NIST CSF, EU AI Act, GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, in the realm of Digital Legal Office (e.g. privacy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data governance).

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$127,500 - $187,000

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
