Title:
DG BOSS: Welder (FN)
- Repairs structures by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling metal components using cutting torches and hand tools.
- Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set ups components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Monitors machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Welds components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Prepares metal surfaces by cleaning with chemical solutions and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture.
- Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
- Follows and enforces strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to read, interpret blueprints and design and follow engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing or walking.
- Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have a valid Professional Driver’s License with at least Restriction Code 2.
Preferred Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING:
- Completed course with the following National Certifications is a plus:
- Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
- Shielded Arc Welding (SMAW)
EDUCATION:
- Must have at least High School diploma, Vocational or Technical course Graduate is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least three (5) years’ experience in welding trades.
