Title: DevSecOps Lead
Clearance: Public Trust (Level 6)
Location: Remote – Washington DC Metro Area
Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,000
Overview:
Agile Defense is an award-winning national security company looking for a DevSecOps Lead to support our contract with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be adaptive to the changing needs of the organization. This candidate must have experience with building and maintaining highly effective relationships with team members and multiple stakeholders across multiple projects. The DevSecOps Lead supports the existing CI/CD pipelines and coordinates research and methods for continuous improvement while ensuring high quality software solution delivery using modern, secure, scalable and stable environments. The ideal candidate for this position will excel in a fast-paced government contractor environment and be adaptive to the changing needs of the organization.

Responsibilities/Duties:
· Oversee the effectiveness and continuous improvement of all DevSecOps processes, practices, and activities.
· Drive software delivery improvements across multiple Agile teams.
· Guide maintenance and enhancements of CI/CD pipelines using industry best practices in configuration management for web application development and deployment.
· Ensure automated configuration management, auto-scaling, containers, RESTful services, AWS application technologies, and AWS IaaS utilizing best practices.
· Coordinate research and evaluate innovative tools to optimize application infrastructure and reduce operational costs.
· Enhance and maintain monitoring tools and practices within the DevSecOps ecosystem.
· Manage multiple integrated environments, ensuring proper system connectivity, security certificates, and configurations.
· Collaborate with Product Managers, developers, and integration partners to troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues.
· Collaborate with the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to oversee the performance of security scans with each build, remediate scan findings and support ongoing authorization and improved security posture.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· 10+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.
· Proven experience managing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure in cloud environments (preferably AWS).
· Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar).
· Expertise in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
· Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
· Deep understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, etc.).
· Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
· Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, CloudWatch).
· Knowledge of secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning, and implementing security in the SDLC.
· Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices architecture.
· Proven leadership ability and experience managing and onboarding a team of engineers.
