Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Platform Engineer II to join our Payments Engineering team. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience supporting on-premise payments processing and settlement systems, and a strong understanding of ISO8583 messaging standards. Experience with Postilion or similar transaction switching platforms is highly desirable. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of mission-critical financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Support and maintain financial services and settlement systems.
  • Manage configuration settings using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Handle SSL certificate issuance, renewal, and lifecycle management.
  • Design and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure environments.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for release management.
  • Ensure high availability and performance using monitoring tools like SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, or NewRelic.

Systems & Tools:

  • Work with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Use IT management tools like ServiceNow and JIRA for incident and task tracking.
  • Support middleware and automation tools including ActiveBatch, RabbitMQ, UiPath, and Tibco.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure components including networking, operating systems, Active Directory, and IT hardware.

Development & Scripting:

  • Develop scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, .NET, or JavaScript.
  • Manage databases and write SQL queries for performance and reliability.
  • Support containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

Collaboration & Process:

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth application delivery.
  • Follow security best practices and address system vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery aligned with DevOps principles.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and blameless postmortems for problem management.
  • Document and share knowledge using platforms like SharePoint and Confluence.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Deliver 24/7 on-call support for critical systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years supporting complex, business-critical application systems.
  • Minimum 5+ years in DevOps or a related engineering role.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of configuration management (e.g., IIS Web Server, Apache Tomcat).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
