Position Description:

The Assistant Director, Fundraising & Partnerships, will identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects for the University of Louisville Athletic Department to help support the Cardinal Athletic Funds Major Gifts initiatives. The Assistant Director, Fundraising & Partnerships, will be responsible for the achievement of assigned fundraising goals as determined by the Assistant Athletic Director, Development.

The Assistant Director, Fundraising & Partnerships will perform all job functions with a high degree of professionalism, and must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including oral and written. Display a high degree of initiative, creativity, accountability, and dependability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies which include building, managing, and solicitation a portfolio of major gift prospects.
  • Solicit and secure donations of $10,000 or more to help support capital projects, annual scholarship requirements, sports-specific needs, and other projects.
  • Execute premium seating and suite sales for both Football and Basketball.
  • Achieve fundraising and premium seat/suite sell goals set by the Assistant Athletic Director of Development and the Associate Athletic Director, Development.
  • Manage a portfolio of an estimated 250 donors.
  • Assist in the cultivation and stewardship initiatives of our entire major gift donor base and the individual portfolio through special events and invitations.
  • Local travel required to visit donors and attend off-campus meetings and events. Some overnight out-of-state travel may be required.
  • Ability to work a non-standard work week, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel. Must be able to attend and work all home Football and Men's Basketball games.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of previous work experience in fundraising or sales within collegiate athletics.
  • Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM database.
  • Proficiency in Ticketmaster, Archtics Ticketing System.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
