Reuters is seeking tech-savvy newshounds in Mexico City to be part of a team that will drive the delivery of its first AI-powered story format. The ideal desk editor will ensure accuracy, quality, value and impact, as well as enshrine Reuters Trust Principles at the core of it all. The role will put you at the frontier of news delivery innovation, which aims to provide news and data in a more actionable format and widen our corporate news coverage.
You must consider the role if you can adeptly decipher corporate earnings statements, have a passion for technology (well, AI), data crunching, and are buzzing with ideas to deliver news in more useful and practical formats. You will help shape Reuters' AI-driven coverage of companies, ranging from global giants such as Apple and Tesla to niche energy and pharmaceutical firms.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Desk Editor, AI News Production, you will
Have a keen news and style sense to ensure we conform to Reuters’ editorial and ethical standards
Have a strong background in reporting or editing, including expertise in tackling company earnings from any geography
Be perceptive to the pros and cons of AI, especially about interpreting and presenting news
Be AI-savvy to suggest improvements to automated news production and expand it across other forms of disclosure-based news
About you
You’re a fit for the role of Desk Editor, AI News Production if your background includes:
Have at least 2-3 years of experience as a journalist, preferably in company news
Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently under the pressures of quantity, quality and time
