The Role

The Role

We are seeking a Design Development Manager to grow our presence amongst Specifiers, Designers & Architects in the luxury premium space in Singapore.

Fisher & Paykel has been designing products since 1934 and has grown into a global company operating in 50 countries and manufacturing in Mexico, Italy, Thailand, and New Zealand. Our design heritage is founded on a pioneering spirit and a culture of curiosity that has challenged conventional appliance design.

Our goal is to be the world's number one premium appliance brand. Not only does this mean we design and build the best appliances, but that we understand who our key customers are and engage with them according to their very specific needs.

The Specifier, Designer & Architect space is essential to our strategy and requires a very special skill set to develop and leverage the key relationships required. From identifying key clients, through networking and engaging with them, it's vital to our success that we've got the right person on the job.

As our Design Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of cultivating relationships with top-tier specifiers, designers, and architects. Your goal will be to create strategic plans and deliver initiatives that increase product market share and achieve profitable growth. At the heart of Fisher & Paykel are our people who design innovative technologies that elevate the everyday into something out of the ordinary. We have built our business by creating moments of delight for the people who use our products.

The Design Development Manager here at Fisher & Paykel Singapore is focused on creating long-lasting relationships with top-tier specifiers, designers, and architects within the country and will report directly to the SG Head of Marketing.

You will be a brand ambassador, promoting our portfolio of products, engaging in design discussions, facilitating product trainings, and networking within the designer/architect community. This will, in turn, drive sales through both our Builder and Retail networks.

In The Role, You Will

  • Be the subject matter expert for Fisher & Paykel within the SDA community by being curious and deeply understanding key specifier communities and their environmental influences.
  • Initiate, develop, and attend key designer networking events within our Fisher & Paykel Singapore Showroom to strengthen existing relationships and create new opportunities for Fisher & Paykel brand, products, and services.
  • Ensure a seamless, brand-aligned representation of Fisher & Paykel’s value proposition across all touchpoints of the key specifier community.
  • Plan and execute the local design development strategy with key specifiers, ensuring alignment with global imperatives and growth aspirations.
  • Provide regular reporting updates on key specifiers to the local and global Market Group.
  • Deliver product training that is sufficiently technical but more tailored to business benefit and competitive advantage.
  • Manage third-party agency partnerships and formulate performance and metric scorecards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of our brand and product messaging to key specifiers.
  • Act as a liaison for design requirements across market channels

You Have

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the appliance or building industry, in a design, project management, or sales/marketing role.
  • Marketing, Business, or Interior Design preferred in conjunction with relevant design credentials (AKBD, CKD, Leed AP).
  • Working experience with interior/kitchen designers and architects.
  • Proven experience in successfully developing strategic partnerships both externally and internally to deliver quality results.
  • Strong creative & technical design skills, including the ability to read floor plans and elevations, and make recommendations on appliance selection, placement, and configuration based on spatial and proportional characteristics of the kitchen, as well as design trends and principles.
  • Strong project planning and management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written communication skills are clear and concise.
  • Strong team player
