Day Porter & Handyperson
As an integral part of the Workplace Services (WPS) team, the Day Porter & Handyperson ensure a 5-star employee and customer experience throughout the entire office.
Reporting to the Facility Coordinator (Day Porter) and the Coordinator CS (Handyperson), these roles support in-house events, hospitality, daily maintenance, and overall tidiness and functionality of the office.
This position requires strong teamwork, service orientation, time management, and organizational skills.
SNACK & REFRESHMENT PROGRAM
- Prepare food for consumption, washing and cutting fruits and vegetables as necessary in accordance with local food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Ensure the fridge is clean, check all items for hygiene, and re-arrange/remove products according to expiration dates.
- Maintain and check the functionality of kitchen equipment regularly, and escalate or report any problems to the WPS Manager.
- Define, maintain, and refill the stock of Snacks & Refreshments for daily operations.
- Observe consumption and collect feedback to ensure employees’ preferences are met.
- Use resources responsibly, maintain replenishment lists, and regularly communicate with the Facility Coordinator for orders.
MEETINGS AND EVENTS
- Collaborate with the Hospitality/Events team to ensure catering setup standards and consistent presentation.
- Receive catering orders, oversee setups according to presentation guidelines, and ensure proper cleanup.
- Set up catering according to the playbook, ensuring completeness of cutlery, proper use of equipment, and correct storage after use.
- Prepare rooms, training areas, and event spaces as requested by clients and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct checks on AV equipment and furniture, reporting any issues or damages to IT and/or the Senior Coordinator WPS.
OFFICE SERVICES
- Maintain and manage stock of office supplies and hygiene products.
- Maintain cleanliness and a presentable look of the entire office during business hours in collaboration with the janitorial team.
- Ensure the printing areas, back offices, and stationery drawers are stocked and tidy.
- Support the Facility Coordinator in rolling out any WPS alignment programs, playbooks, and other initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within daily operations.
- Support and enforce the Clean Desk Policy.
- Proactively report facility issues via Corrigo or to the Facility Coordinator.
- Collect post and packages, placing mail alphabetically into allocated areas.
MEETING ROOMS
- Ensure meeting rooms are clean, tidy, and fully stocked with standard amenities at all times; check at least once daily.
- Conduct checks on AV equipment and furniture, and report any issues to IT or the Senior Coordinator WPS.
- Check whiteboards, ensure markers and erasers function properly, replace when needed, and neatly organize furniture and materials.
HANDYPERSON RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Coordinator CS, the Handyperson supports the Workplace and Facilities teams with general maintenance, repair tasks, and on-site technical support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Handle and create service requests in Corrigo.
- Perform minor repair and maintenance tasks such as painting, fixing locks, handles, door closers, plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
- Replace defective lamps or fixtures.
- Support internal moves, furniture adjustments, and layout changes.
- Understand and comply with local Health & Safety (Arbo) regulations and always work safely.
- Ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be aware of risks related to assigned tasks.
- Support the Building Operations Center (BOC) and Facilities team when required.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous.
- Electrical or HVAC knowledge is considered a plus.
Required Skills:
- Strong technical and hands-on approach.
- Familiarity with building systems and maintenance processes.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Customer-oriented mindset and proactive attitude.
- Assertive, well-organized, and culturally aware.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar technical or maintenance role.
- Basic electrical knowledge is an advantage.
COOPERATION & COMMUNICATION
- Maintain daily communication with the WPS team to ensure smooth and seamless operations.
- Flag any failures in service delivery, potential complaints, or operational risks to the TFM Account Manager and Facility Coordinator.
- Cooperate with sub-contractors and vendors as required by business needs.
Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change)
Training: 5 working days
