We are looking for a Data Manager to join Wood Mackenzie’s Power and Renewables Team.
Wood Mackenzie produces research and data that the energy industry relies on to understand and navigate the energy transition. Examples of products that you will contribute to include:
Power supply long-term outlooks
Renewable asset owner leaderboards
Global power plant project lists
Responsibilities
Creation and ownership of workflows and ETL pipelines that serve data to research teams, and customer facing platforms.
Monitoring and communicating data quality.
Line management of a team data analysts and analytics engineers: Provide feedback, establish goals, train, hire, and monitor performance
Coordinate with other managers to plan, prioritize, assign, and execute projects
Monitor and field inquiries from customers and colleagues about our data
Collaborate with colleagues across multiple time zones and disciplines to uncover pain points, process improvements, and data requirements.
About You
Experience working in environments reliant on Excel, DAX, PowerQuery, SQL, Python, DBT, and Snowflake. Technical proficiency with these tools is required.
Experience in a data or software development role with line management responsibilities
Power industry experience not required but preferred
Excited about building, guiding, and inspiring a global team of analysts and analytics engineers
Hands on approach to problem solving that delves into the details while maintaining the ability to succinctly propose solutions to steer decisions
Independently completes projects given time and platform constraints
Passionate ownership of projects and excitement to share accomplishments with fellow Woodmackers
Fluent in English.
