NOTE: This position is hybrid and requires 3 days a week onsite in our Walnut Creek, CA Corporate office.

Summary

Our Data Engineer applies the skills and aptitude of a mid-level data engineer to build and maintain the Enterprise Data Warehouse for Reporting, Analytics, Agentic AI and Strategic AI use cases.

Essential Functions

• Use experience in and knowledge of Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, Airflow Composer, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Functions, Python, SQL and GitHub to build, modify and maintain the AAA Mountain West Group Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).

• Collaborate as a member of a high-performing Agile data engineering scrum team.

• Collaborate with the EDW development team, the larger Data & Integrations engineering team, the Production Data Support team and internal business stakeholders to design and develop new functionality, and to troubleshoot then resolve reported problems.

• Use Google Gemini AI to generate detailed system documentation for new and modified data pipelines.

• Interfaces with business stakeholders and data stewards, and mentors junior engineers, from a technical perspective.

• Aids the data governance structure, and semantic layer, development efforts

• Investigate new tools such as Google’s Antigravity for engineering productivity gains.

Education & Experience/Licenses & Certification

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

• Five years of applied technical experience, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

• Prior experience using Agile in software engineering projects.

• Google Cloud Platform certifications are a plus.

We target between minimum and midpoint of the range, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis - Compensation Range: Min: $129,234.00 - Mid: $161,542.00- Max: $193,849.00
