About the role:
Data is a critical part of Arctic Wolf Network’s mission to solve cyber risk, where we process and analyze trillions of events every week to look for malicious and risky behavior. These set of Data Pipelines form the critical backend of all our products and services. The Data Engineering team works on ingesting massive amounts of security data and logs, refining and enriching the data as it flows through the pipeline and service them at a high performance for all the products and stakeholders.
As a Data Engineer on this team you will be responsible to create data pipelines for our suite of cybersecurity products and services. They will partner with Product Managers, Security Researchers, ML teams and various other teams that are engaged in the data world in AWN. You will work with SQL, Spark, Databricks, Athena/, Iceberg/Trino to write and optimize ETL/ELT jobs to ingest raw data from a variety of sources, refine that data, and optimize/tune those datasets into production. You should be comfortable with relational- and non-relational databases like SQL and PostgreSQL, big data systems such as Spark, and cloud-deployments of software and ETL jobs in AWS.
You Will:
Design and implement distributed, fault-tolerant BIG data ETL/ELT pipelines for stream and batch processing in Databricks.
Work with Relational data sources (SQL Server etc.) and integrate their data into Data Lakes.
Proficient with Databricks and familiar with Athena, Iceberg, and Trino.
Implement data streaming and event-driven architectures using Kafka, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, etc.
Deploy infrastructure and pipelines using Terraform, Terragrunt, Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data infrastructure requirements and deliver robust solutions.
Continuously improve data availability, quality, and performance for Data workloads.
About You:
2.5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on scalable backend systems.
Proficiency in SQL, PostgreSQL, and big data platforms like Databricks.
Hands-on experience with AWS services - S3, RDS, EC2 etc.
Strong programming skills in Python, Scala.
Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools - Terraform, Terragrunt.
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts is a plus.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for solving complex data challenges.
