The Opportunity

This position, Data Business Process Specialist, works out of our Lake Mary, FL office. The group this supports is Global Business Services, which provides number of shared services activities across finance, purchasing, quality, technical and customer services for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Various global and EMEA commercial and operational management teams across our infectious disease and cardiometabolic businesses are also based in Galway, overseeing the supply of millions of rapid tests from HIV to diabetes to COVID-19, to patients in many regions across the world.

Global Business Services (GBS) within the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division (ARDx) has a global accountability to deliver an exceptional customer experience and create business value through compliance, standardization, and data analytics. As part of Global Business Services (GBS), the Global Master Data team are responsible to optimize the management of ARDx Data Assets and drive global business processes leveraging best practices, innovative thinking, and technology to deliver high quality service to our customers.

The Data Business Process Specialist performs a variety of functions in accordance with Abbott GBS Master Data Governance policies and procedures focused on relevant data domains. Focused on projects and initiatives, the Data Business Process Specialist provides direction and support to users and collaborates with other departments to ensure the continuity and accuracy of data assets and process pertaining to Master Data Maintenance. As a Subject Matter Expert in the relevant data domain, the Data Business Process Specialist will work predominantly on projects relating to ERP Implementation, Data Migration, Process Standardisation & Optimisation, and business expansion. The Data Business Process Specialist ensures data issues are resolved in line with defined standards and works internal departments to evolve these standards and adopt industry best practices.

What You’ll Work On

  • Serve as Master Data Subject Matter Expert for key processes and Projects relating to the relevant Master Data domain.

  • Participates in onboarding of new entities to GBS Master Data processes including fit/gap review and training business users on master data transactions and other Master Data owned tools (Winshuttle).

  • Supports data migrations through participation in definition of transformation rules, identification of duplicate records between source and target systems and execution of manual migration tasks for both test and production loads following established process.

  • Participate in User Acceptance Training for Master Data Transactions where required including Script writing.

  • Assist business users & Global Process Manager on establishing new governance processes for globally governed data.

  • Educates & Trains stakeholders and customers across multiple functions on data governance rules as defined in data dictionary and knowledge bases.

  • Assume ownership of complex issues and challenges. Conducts root cause investigation and identifies/implements solutions including support of Corrective and Preventative actions and quality incidents.

  • Manages Master Data initiatives and proactively identifies ways to improve Master Data processes and governance and works with internal and external stakeholders to implement process improvements.

  • Assist in identification of strategic goals relating to global processes and governance.

  • Keeps global data maintenance processes and data standards accurate and up to date.

  • Executes and designs reports as required for functional monitoring including governance and quality reports as defined by MD Leaders.

  • Develop, review, and refine data quality rules to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and reliability; analyze data performance trends to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Manage and implement reference data updates within the production environment, ensuring compliance with established data governance frameworks and maintaining end-to-end data integrity across systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience is required.

  • Over 3 years’ experience within a similar role desirable and have SAP system experience.

  • Knowledge of SAP Modules required to maintain the relevant Master Data is essential.

  • Excellent data manipulation skills including excellent Excel skills. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Additional technical skills in SQL querying, Access and/or Data Analytical tools welcome.

  • Project Management or Co-ordination Experience is a distinct advantage.

  • Fluency in business English, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent analytical/ Problem solving skills.

  • Experience and knowledge in data quality improvement.

  • Experience in Data Migration and ERP Implementation projects.

  • Ability to work on own initiative, motivated, self-starter and Team player.

  • Desire to acquire further knowledge and to understand the business.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

  • Excellent Communication Skills with ability to communicate and train other staff members and internal customers.

The base pay for this position is

$66,700.00 – $133,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
