The Manager, Data Architect / Security is responsible for leading the design, governance, and protection of enterprise data assets across SAP S/4HANA, Cloud, and Digital Transformation programs.
Operating under the Enterprise PMO, this role ensures that data architecture principles, governance standards, and security controls are consistently applied to enable trusted, high-quality, and compliant data flows throughout the organization.
The incumbent collaborates with enterprise architects, program managers, and IT security teams to integrate data integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance into all layers of enterprise solutions.

What will you do?

1. Enterprise Data Architecture & Governance

  • Define and manage the enterprise-wide data architecture strategy supporting SAP S/4HANA, Workday, and cloud environments.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, metadata standards, and master data management (MDM) processes.
  • Embed data architecture governance checkpoints within PMO program methodologies and quality gates.
  • Lead data lifecycle management initiatives ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and alignment with enterprise information policies.

2. SAP S/4HANA & Cloud Integration

  • Architect end-to-end data flows between legacy systems, S/4HANA, and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Oversee the design and execution of data migration strategies, ensuring data quality, validation, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with SAP BTP and integration teams to optimize interfaces (OData, APIs, IDocs) and ensure secure data exchange.
  • Support analytics enablement within SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Power BI, ensuring data readiness for reporting and KPIs.

3. Data Security, Privacy & Compliance

  • Partner with cybersecurity and compliance teams to implement data classification, encryption, and access control standards.
  • Enforce compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, and relevant data protection frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain secure data integration architectures and ensure monitoring of sensitive data flows.
  • Lead data security assessments and contribute to incident response and remediation planning.
  • Promote a “security-by-design” culture across the data and transformation programs.

4. Cloud Data Platform & Analytics Enablement

  • Design and govern hybrid data platforms integrating structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Define reference architectures for data lakes, warehouses, and mesh/fabric models.
  • Enable self-service analytics through governed data catalogs and metadata repositories.
  • Partner with business intelligence teams to align architecture with business analytics objectives and sustainability metrics.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a small team of data engineers, modelers, and security analysts to deliver enterprise data initiatives.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the PMO, Enterprise Architecture, and Information Security Office.

  • Provide architectural oversight, mentoring, and assurance reviews across transformation programs.

  • Represent data and security interests in steering committees, audits, and governance boards.

Qualification, Experience, Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Data Security.

  • 8–10 years’ experience in data architecture, security architecture, or enterprise transformation roles.

  • Demonstrated experience in SAP S/4HANA, cloud migration, and data governance program delivery.

  • Professional certifications preferred:

       - TOGAF, DAMA DMBOK, CDMP

       - Azure Data Architect Expert / AWS Certified Data Analytics

       - SAP Certified Technology Architect (S/4HANA)

       - CISSP, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer

  • Strong expertise in data architecture design, data modeling, and information security.

  • Proven experience in SAP S/4HANA data design, SAP BTP, and data migration methodologies.

  • Deep knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and MDM frameworks.

  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and related data services.

  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Azure Data Factory, Talend) and API-based integrations.

  • Understanding of data security frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).

  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and DLP technologies.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
