Position Details
Position Overview
This is a key role that supports decision-making through data analysis in collaboration with the Strategic Planning Team of the CMO Office. The mission is to identify challenges and formulate strategies across the marketing domain of the entire Rakuten Group.
Key Characteristics of the Role
Leveraging Rakuten Group’s vast customer and purchase data, as well as user behavior data from web and app platforms, this role involves uncovering marketing opportunities and challenges and conducting data analysis to support the development of new marketing initiatives. The variety and scale of accessible data are unique to the cross-functional nature of the CMO Office. To enhance the resolution of user insights, qualitative research such as user interviews is also incorporated into the analysis.
Beyond data analysis, the scope of work is broad—another unique aspect of the CMO Office. You will have opportunities to engage in areas beyond traditional data analytics, such as planning marketing campaigns and implementing and operating marketing automation tools.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis using SQL (e.g., Google Big Query)
- 3+ years of experience in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
- 1+ year of team management experience, leading cross-functional data initiatives
Desired Qualifications:
- Experienced in building dashboards using BI tools
- Skilled in data preprocessing and transformation with Python
- Conducted in-depth analysis of KPI fluctuations
- Proven track record in executive-level reporting, including creating strategic presentations in PowerPoint
