Overview & Responsibilities
Overview
The primary function of the operator will be the installation and removal of the pumps, expanders and necessary testing auxiliaries for factory acceptance testing. Operators will have to operate testing systems to support test engineering with test loop operations.
Responsibilities
Receives instruction from Supervision
Reports production count, time and identifying data by use of data collecting machines
Unloads and loads pumps from shipping truck
Rig and operate 25-ton overhead crane
Builds up piping and supports from blueprints and test forms
Mount pumps to adaptors and head plates
Mount instrumentation to pump and secure it with lock wire
Makes mechanical and simple electrical connections and test units
Records Test Data on designated forms
Uses taps and dies to clean treads on bolting and blind holes
Complete operational checklist and maintain installation reading
Follow well defined operational instruction
Logs and records replenishment, servicing, and turnover log
Use hoist, unlimited pendant and overhead crane(s) as required
Maintains good housekeeping by keeping tools, material and equipment in proper place
Reports defective material and equipment to supervision
Observes all safety rules
Disassembles Vibration sensors and test instrumentation from pump and orifice section and returns to instrument Technician for posttest checks
Operates forklifts, work savers, scissor lifts and Ariel lifts
Maintains and operates fire protection equipment
Conducts hydro test on new and repaired piping and required
Maintains test adaptors, pipe, bolting, and valve inventory
Install and remove various types of insulation
Monitor test loop and systems for leaks and report and correct as directed
Conducts confined space entry as needed
Conduct loop pressure integrity test
Operate Test Systems
Pressure Build Coils
Flare controls
Liquid transfers to and from storage tanks
Startup and shutdown VFD drives
Operate manual test valves as instructed
Monitor and record liquid delivery to storage tanks
Operate liquid transfer pumps
Remove and clean In-line heat exchangers as instructed
Conduct Meger test of electrical connections
Pull Liquid samples from test loop for SG readings
Transport via truck of materials and equipment between the Jeannette manufacturing facility and the Jeannette Cryo facility.
Uncrate and crate pumps shipping between facilities
Operates test systems and valves using control systems
Erect/assemble scaffolding and planking.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able and willing to work 1st (7am-3pm), 2nd (3pm-11pm) and 3rd (11pm-7am) shifts. Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to shift realignment.
Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
