About the role
Join our vulnerability management team as a Developer. Your role will be central: develop and integrate our cybersecurity tools. You will evolve our unified platform for managing vulnerabilities, technological obsolescence, and security configurations. You will integrate various scanning tools and manage security data pipelines. This role is ideal if you’re passionate about cybersecurity, comfortable with complex data, and able to master a diverse technology environment.
What you’ll do here:
Develop, maintain, and improve new features of our internal vulnerability management platform, both on the backend and frontend.
Design, build, and maintain resilient API integrations to ingest and normalize data from internal and external vulnerability scanning tools.
Act as the principal technical owner of our vulnerability aggregator, ensuring data integrity, system availability, and performance.
Optimize and manage our security data models in databases to support fast queries and analysis of large data volumes.
Collaborate closely with vulnerability management analysts to understand their workflows, translate their needs into technical solutions, and improve their efficiency.
Write, test, and deploy secure, high-quality code that directly contributes to identifying and remediating security risks.
Diagnose and resolve integration failures within the cybersecurity toolchain.
What you bring to the table:
5 years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Python.
Solid experience in database management and query writing for both relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database) and NoSQL (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) databases.
Demonstrable experience creating and consuming APIs for data integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to handle complex datasets.
A keen interest in cybersecurity and a strong desire to learn the vulnerability management domain.
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a specialized technical team.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
Bilingualism. Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
Assets:
Experience with functional programming languages (e.g., Elm, Roc, Haskell).
Knowledge or understanding of the MVC (Model-View-Controller) architectural pattern.
Direct experience in a cybersecurity role (e.g., vulnerability management, security operations).
Knowledge of APIs for common vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, CrowdStrike, Prisma Cloud, etc.).
Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and DevOps practices (e.g., Docker, Git).
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
