About the Role

As the Security Operations Manager, you will oversee the Cybersecurity Operations team and manage daily tasks to maintain security standards in Alight’s Federal Cloud environment. Responsibilities include coordinating internal and external stakeholders, such as managed security service providers, to monitor, validate, and address identified risks.

The role includes managing operational security activities like incident response, vulnerability management, provide support for the compliance audits (SOC1/SOC2), client audits, and penetration testing.

This position calls for technical expertise, leadership abilities, and knowledge of security technologies, controls, and practices. You will promote ongoing skill development for your team through knowledge sharing and training. The position requires effective communication and organizational skills for managing a team within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Cybersecurity Operations team, ensure tasks are assigned efficiently, deadlines and service agreements are met, and security standards are maintained.
  • Cultivating a positive and productive team culture that encourages open communication, continuous learning, and mutual support.
  • Managing the Security Incident Management process to ensure timely resolution of all incidents and events.
  • Collaborating with internal technical and business teams to design, implement, and uphold security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Managing vulnerability management activities by identifying, prioritizing, and assigning vulnerabilities to remediation teams, and offer guidance on the vulnerability management program.
  • Preparing and publish risk reports and scorecards to provide situational awareness and communicate risks to senior leadership.
  • Managing day-to-day interactions and escalations with the third-party 24/7 SOC provider, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective response to incidents.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to monitor emerging threats, share critical threat intelligence, and coordinate proactive responses across relevant departments.
  • Establishing measurable benchmarks to track team performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with organizational security goals.
  • Driving the execution of action items and priorities set by the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) and leadership team.

Requirements

  • Graduate or higher degree in information security, cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience Managing a Security Operations team or serving as a lead within a cybersecurity group.
  • 5+ years of security experience in an AWS cloud platform environment.
  • 3+ years of technical operations experience in a NOC, Systems Administration, SOC/CIRT Team Leadership, OR AWS Security Center environment.
  • Experience with program and team management skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Experience with ServiceNow for incident and task management.
  • Technical proficiency in tools such as Tenable, Splunk, Crowdstrike, SIEM, XDR, IDS/IPS, DLP, DDoS, data classifications, vulnerability management, and penetration testing; forensics experience.

Salary Pay Range

Minimum :

110,000.00 USD

Maximum :

145,000.00 USD
