Your Role:
Reporting to the National Account Manager, Kroger & Harris Teeter, including strong collaboration with the Director of Sales, East, the Customer Sales Analyst will support growing Vital Farms’ grocery presence within total Kroger enterprise business. You’ll manage the details that keep our sales organization running smoothly — from deductions and supply chain performance to reporting and analytics — while also gaining exposure to customer-facing work, category reviews, and strategic planning including internal business reviews. The right candidate will have a strong analytical foundation, a desire to work cross-functionally, and ambitions to grow.
What You'll Do:
- Supply Chain & Forecast Support
- Monitor orders, fill rates, and forecast accuracy, escalating risks early to ensure high customer service levels
- Collaborate with supply chain & customer service teams to address out-of-stocks and improve operational efficiency for those customers
- Sales Analytics & Insights
- Develop weekly and/or monthly reports on sales, shopper marketing, distribution, and promotional effectiveness for select customer base
- Leverage syndicated data (Circana) and strong familiarity with retailer systems (84.51/Stratum) to uncover growth opportunities
- Work closely with COE including Sr. Retail Insights team on specific customer data bases focused on creating customer centric solutions supporting Harris Teeter & Kroger
- Deductions & Trade Spend Management
- Review, analyze, and resolve trade deductions in partnership with account managers, finance, and customers
- Track recurring deduction issues & recommend fixes that improve process to reduce future claims
- Sales & Customer Exposure
- Support the development of customer-facing presentations and, where appropriate, participate in meetings
- Assist with category reviews & joint business planning discussions to learn firsthand how retailers and brands collaborate
- Participate & help organize internal east team sales monthly/quarterly meetings along with team scorecards & presentations
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, marketing or other related fields
- 1–2 years of CPG experience in sales support, supply chain, trade deductions, finance, or analytics (internships and entry-level roles applicable!).
- Ability to travel for customer & internal meetings, including training, etc. (anticipating 25-33% travel)
- Must be located near a major regional airport in EST/CST, Cincinnati location preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint; familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI) is a plus
- Exposure to syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS) or retailer systems is helpful, but not required — willingness to learn is key.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail & ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage in cross-functional teamwork.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset — you’re eager to learn the grocery/CPG industry and grow into a sales leadership role
