Permanent, Full time

37.5 hours per week (including day and night shifts)

Salary: £44,806 - £53,051 per annum, dependent on experience (Band 6 equivalent)

As a Critical Care Outreach Nurse at Cromwell Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in supporting acutely ill, deteriorating, and critically unwell patients across the hospital. You’ll bring expert clinical knowledge to early recognition and intervention, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of high-quality care pathways. How you’ll help us make health happen

  • Perform comprehensive physical and psychological assessments of acutely unwell patients.
  • Initiate, evaluate, and modify clinical interventions to prevent deterioration.
  • Facilitate timely admission to and discharge from critical care, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Provide specialist advice and training to healthcare professionals on critical care and resuscitation.
  • Participate in cardiac arrest and medical emergency teams, offering expert support.
  • Collaborate with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Support governance processes including incident reporting, audits, and policy compliance.
  • Contribute to service development and innovation within the Critical Care Outreach Team.

Key Skills / Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in critical care nursing or A&E.
  • Completion of ICU or Acute & Emergency Care Course.
  • ILS accreditation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Desirable:

  • ALS/CALS/PILS accreditation.
  • Advanced Assessment Course (Level 7).
  • Non-Medical Prescriber (Level 7).
