The salary range for this role is:

$28.70 - $35.70

Responsibilities:

The Utility Crew Leader is a maintenance generalist who is responsible to safely maintain buildings and grounds, wastewater systems which includes pumps, header piping, vehicles, spreaders, irrigation systems, and related equipment while ensuring waste solids and water are discarded appropriately. Responsibilities also include environmental sampling, seasonal training, and leading seasonal employees, while working in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. Must possess or obtain a CDL with a tanker certificate.  This position reports directly to the Utility Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Responsibilities, job duties, major tasks performed, and percentage of time required for each)

  • Safely perform a variety of skilled maintenance work and troubleshooting to maintain the various equipment. 
  • Monitor wastewater and waste solids process flows
  • Able to train and lead seasonal employees.   
  • Maintain utility equipment and building & grounds (i.e. pumps, irrigation systems, vehicles, etc.)
  • Environmental duties including all paperwork and sampling
  • Ensures compliance with all approved and applicable safety rules in the employee's area of responsibility.
  • Supports and facilitates the implementation of the facility's Continuous Improvement (C.I.) initiatives.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of working areas.
  • Ability to work together with employees within your department and within other departments. 
  • Assist on projects or work in different departments as needed or requested by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Post high school mechanical training or its equivalent.
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Capability of working with a wide variety of tools.
  • Machinist skills or training are advantageous.
  • Welding and torch cutting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, and steam.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Possess or ability to obtain CDL licensure with a tanker certificate.
  • Good communication.
  • Possess or ability to obtain OTM/NN certificate.
  • Ability to work in outdoor/indoor environment conditions.
